Vertastone FAQ
Training, membership, the system, ordering and project leads. Can't find it? Contact us.
Training
How long is training?
Most sessions run 3 to 4 days. Each session page lists its exact dates and daily hours.
How often are sessions held, and where?
Monthly, in different locations. Get on the training alerts list and we'll email you each new date and location first.
What's included?
All materials and tools for the build. You bring work clothes, gloves and boots. Travel and lodging are on you.
How big are the groups?
Small, so Shane can work with each person. Seat counts are on each session page. [Confirm typical group size.]
Do I need experience?
No art background is needed. Most attendees already work in concrete, curbing, hardscape or masonry.
What if I need to cancel?
Our training cancellation policy covers refunds and transfers to a later session. [Policy to be written.]
Membership & pricing
Why can't I see prices?
Product prices and ordering are for approved Vertastone accounts. Log in with an approved account to see member pricing. Training sessions are open to everyone.
How do I get an approved account?
Finish a Vertastone training session and we approve your account. [Pending decision M3: automatic on completion, or reviewed by Shane.]
I already carve faux rock. Do I have to take training?
No. Experienced vertical carvers, hardscape and masonry pros can apply for a pro account with photos of past work and business details. We review every application.
How do I log in?
Use Member login at the top of any page. We email you a one-time code, so there's no password to remember.
Is there a membership fee?
[To confirm.] Approved members pay for the products they order.
The system
What's in the Vertastone system?
Stack Aid and Set Lag for stacking walls with the One Day Wall System, Base Mix and Carve Mix for carved features, Easy Finish to keep the surface workable, and Rock Blends for color.
What's the difference between the One Day Wall System and the Carve System?
The One Day Wall System turns low-slump concrete into stacked, carvable walls in a day. The Carve System covers a shaped foam core with Base Mix and Carve Mix for features like grill islands, boulders and waterfalls.
How much do I need for my job?
Coverage depends on wall size and thickness. Our yardage calculator gives quantities. [Calculator and coverage numbers pending.]
Where are the technical and safety data sheets?
On every product page and on our Resources page.
What temperatures can I work in?
[Working temperature range to confirm for each product.]
Ordering & shipping
Where do you ship?
[Shipping regions to confirm.]
How are pails shipped?
[Carriers, freight for large orders and lead times to confirm.]
Can I return a product?
See our refund policy. [Policy to be written.]
Do you offer bulk or dealer pricing?
Contact us about bulk or dealer orders and our team will follow up.
Project leads
How do project leads work?
Homeowners and businesses send project requests on our site. We share each request with approved Vertastone pros near the job.
Do leads cost anything?
Leads are free for approved members at launch. [Pending decision M6.]
How many leads will I get?
It depends on requests in your area. We share leads as they come in and can't promise a set number.
How do I get leads in my area?
Keep your member profile up to date with the states and project types you take on.
Hiring a pro
Does Vertastone build projects?
No. We share your request with approved Vertastone pros near you, and they quote and build the job.
What does it cost to submit a project?
Nothing. Sending a request is free and there's no obligation.
How soon will a pro contact me?
We confirm by email, then a pro near you reaches out. [Target response time to confirm.]
What if there's no pro near me?
We'll let you know, and keep your request on file as our network grows.
