From foam core
to carved stone.
These photos are from one real build: the grill island our June training class carved in Montana.
Real · June trainingShape the foam core
Cut and glue foam into the rough shape of the feature, with openings for the grill, doors or water lines. Wrap it in fiberglass mesh.
Real projectLock it in Base Mix
Trowel Base Mix over the mesh to turn the foam into a solid concrete shell. Let it cure before the carving coat.
Carve the stone in Carve Mix
Apply Carve Mix and cut ledges, fissures and strata by hand. Easy Finish keeps the surface workable so the detail stays crisp.
Color it with Rock Blends
Layer two or three Rock Blends colors so they break across the ledges like natural stone. Seal, set the grill, done.

Can it hold a grill or fire bowl?
Yes, features are built around appliances. Follow the appliance maker's clearances. Fire features should use gas burners or steel bowls. [Final guidance to be confirmed.]
Is it the same as the One Day Wall System?
No. One Day Wall stacks concrete into walls. The Carve System builds features over a foam core. Easy Finish and Rock Blends are used in both.
